Helhunds are a race of Ram Wolves who roam the wastes of the Snow Valley.
They are the emissaries of the Goddess of the Underworld, Hel. The crippled queen lets her herds of animals be maintained by the fang and claw of The Helhunds.
They Hunt in solitariness, waiting in the snow, disguised by the white of their fluffy snow packed tails. They wait and wait for hours, reeking of the stink of dead flesh. They paint their bodies with their own blood during rituals of honor to show their accomplishments. Their own Hund blood (and the black tar that can be found bubbling form volcanic cracks near the borders of their valley) is potent enough to stain the white of their glorious coats.
Each of their family packs, called Rots; are governed by the wise Blue Coated Elders. They are blue for they have been beyond the walls of the valley, and are marked forever with the knowledge of darkness.
Though family oriented, the hunds are known to travel far and wide across the terrain, often making new friends, and allies to form their own small murders.
All hunds are in the pursuit for balance, and the maintenance of the valley's ecosystem, they are the judges of those that kill without need.
